Buccaneers defensive tackle Brian Price missed some organized team activities recently, and the team did not release the reason why he was not in attendance. It turns out that his absence was brought on by something much sadder then we could have realized. Price's sister was killed in a car accident last week, and Price was so physically and mentally exhausted from the whole incident, that he just could not get it together for the workouts.
According to Pro Football Talk, Price's body just "shut down."
"He was ready to go with the OTAs (organized team activities) starting up on Tuesday, but between a complete lack of sleep and all that he has been dealing with from this loss, he just couldn’t do it," Charles Price said. "You never want to use the term ‘physical exhaustion,’ but there’s really no other way to describe it. He was dehydrated and after dealing with so much, his body just shut down on him."
Price will adopt his two nephews, ages seven and nine, after they finish out the school year living with their grandmother. Here is wishing the best for Price and those two young boys.
