2012 Indianapolis 500: Drivers Test Out Track On "Fast Friday" In Preparation Of Pole Day

Drivers hoping to bring home the 2012 Indianapolis 500 took to the track on Fast Friday to get used to the track in anticipation of Saturday's Pole Day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

According to the Indianapolis Star, Marco Andretti has the fastest lap of the day, as he clocked one in at 227.540 mph. He was the only driver to record a lap with a speed of 257 mph or above.

Helio Castroneves has slowly climbed up the ranks before reaching second place with a practice lap coming in at 226.716 mph. Castroneves is a four-time pole winner at Indy.

This is the final day of practice for racers before Saturday's tomorrow's Pole Day, in which hopefuls vie for the best position in the 2012 Indianapolis 500 on May 27.
