Big East Baseball Tournament 2012: No. 4 USF Opens Play Against No. 5 UConn on Wednesday

The Bulls look to capture their first-ever Big East tournament title as postseason play begins in Clearwater on Wednesday.

The No. 4 seed Southern Florida Bulls (35-20, 17-10) chase their first ever Big East tournament title as they open postseason play against the No. 5 Connecticut Huskies on Wednesday night. All games will be played at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Florida. The tournament is an eight-team, double-elimination format, with the championship on Sunday, May 27, at 12:00 p.m. on ESPNU

The Louisville Cardinals (38-18, 18-9) come in as the No. 1 seed, ranked 22nd nationally. The St. John's Red Storm (33-21, 18-9), despite notching an identical conference record as Louisville, earned the second seed after losing to the Cardinals during the regular season. The Seton Hall Pirates (33-22, 17-10) won the Big East tournament last year and come in as the No. 3 seed.

Play opens on Wednesday with all games available on BigEast.tv:

10:00 a.m.: No. 3 Seton Hall Vs. No. 6 Rutgers

1:00 p.m.: No. 2 St. John's Vs. No. 7 Notre Dame

5:00 p.m.: No. 1 Louisville Vs. No. 8 Pittsburgh

8:00 p.m.: No. 4 Southern Florida Vs. No. 5 Connecticut
