The Miami Marlins clinched their series against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night with a 7-6 win at Marlins Park. Ricky Nolasco became the all-time wins leader in Marlins franchise history with his 69th win. Nolasco was not particularly sharp but he battled through a rocky start to hang on for the win. Nolasco struck out six in six innings while allowing four runs on eight hits. He gave up three runs in the first inning but his offense promptly picked him up by reeling off six unanswered runs.
Amazingly, the Fish scored all seven runs without taking Rockies starter Juan Nicasio deep one time. Nolasco had an amazing night at the plate as well, helping himself get the record. He had two RBIs, knocking home Giancarlo Stanton and Donnie Murphy on a double to deep left field. Hanley Ramirez also finished the night with 2 RBIs as Miami racked up 12 hits. The Marlins will go for the sweep on Wednesday night with Carlos Zambrano taking on Alex White.
