2012 Sun Belt Baseball Tournament Final Score: Louisiana-Monroe Tops FAU In Extra Innings

It took a little longer, but in extra innings, Louisiana Monroe finally upset No. 1-seeded Florida Atlantic in pool play by a final score of 9-7, to improving to 2-0 on the second day of the Sun Belt Baseball Tournament.

With the game knotted at seven heading into the bottom of the 13th inning, Jeff Fuller reached base for ULM on a fielding error. During the next at bat, Justin Stawychny attempted to bunt Fuller over to second, but a fielder's choice got him out at second. Then, later in the inning, with two outs, shortstop Jeremy Sy, stepped up to the plate, and while facing a 1-0 count, launched a two-run homer to seal the victory.

The high-scoring game saw a combined 16 runs and 25 hits

FAU will face South Alabama tomorrow at 7 p.m. EST. ULM is off. You can get a full tournament bracket here.
