South Florida Vs. Pittsburgh, 2012 Big East Baseball Tournament: Bulls Offense Lights Up Panthers In Win

The South Florida Bulls stayed alive in the Big East Tournament on Thursday night, eliminating the Pitt Panthers with a 12-5 win at Bright House Field. USF blew the game open early with an eight-run third inning, and capitalized on one Pitt blunder after another. The Panthers committed a whopping six errors in the blowout loss.

The first nine USF batters in the third inning reached base, and all but one scored a run. James Ramsay roped a double that knocked in two, extending the lead to 5-0. The inning was so long the a weather delay intervened during the Bulls' assault. But while the rain eventually stopped, the offense continued to pour it on as Zac Gilcrease knocked in two more to cap the eight run inning.

South Florida now moves to play on Friday at 6:00 p.m. ET. They will face the loser of an earlier game that day between Louisville and Connecticut.
