As the game between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals went into overtime, the Celtics were able to match the Heat blow for blow, even without Paul Pierce on the court. Rajon Rondo rebounded from being shut down early in the second half and finished the night with the highest scoring out put of his entire career with 44 points.
The Heat took the lead with under a minute and a half left in overtime on a tip in. As Boston was trying to tie the game up, a bad pass by Kevin Garnett was stolen and Dwayne Wade pushed the score to four and then five points after sinking his free throw. After a bad three-point air ball by Garnett with under a minute, Boston resorted to fouling Miami until the clock expired as the Heat go up 2-0 in the series with a 115-111 victory.
