The Miami Heat walked into Madison Square Garden on Thursday night and took a commanding 3-0 lead in their series against the Knicks by wiping them off the floor in the second half. The plucky Knicks came out with a great deal of energy in the first half, but as our Heat blog Peninsula is Mightier points out, the Heat were just too much.
It was a game of runs early, with the Knicks starting the game on a 19-10 run early but found themselves up just 4 at halftime. LeBron would get into foul trouble in the 3rd quarter but Dwyane Wade sparked a run, hitting 3 straight shots and giving Miami a 5 point lead. The Heat would never look back and expanded on the lead to start the 4th quarter off a pair of back to back 3-pointers from LeBron James.
Now the Heat are up 3-0 in their first round series, and they are just one win away from closing out the Knicks. They can take care of that over the weekend and return home to Miami without having to play at their house again.
