With the NBA Draft less than three weeks away, the Miami Heat have a couple of directions on where they could go with the 27th pick of the draft. With a particularly deep draft this year, the Heat will find quality value wherever they turn to this year, and in their latest mock draft, SheridanHoops.com thinks Miami will shore up their backcourt with Kentucky PG Marquis Teague.
27. Heat – Marquis Teague, PG, Kentucky
While the Heat selected a point guard last draft, Teague’s athleticism and talent are too much to pass up here. He would instantly upgrade that position and can give the Heat the consistent point guard play that they have been lacking.
While Mario Chalmers has done well running the point for the Heat this year, Norris Cole has had trouble adjusting to the next level this year after dominating at Cleveland State. Teague averaged 10 points and 4.8 assists this year, and was one of the main reasons why Kentucky won the national championship over Kansas this year. Teague scored 14 points and dished out 3 assists in the Wildcats 67-59 victory over the Jayhawks.
