Marlins Vs. Rays: Alex Cobb Allows Just Two Hits In 3-0 Tampa Bay Win

Alex Cobb gave the Tampa Bay Rays a much needed lift over the Miami Marlins, allowing just two hits in seven innings to lead the Rays to a 3-0 win.

Cobb struck out 10 and walked only one while combining with relievers Joel Peralta and Fernando Rodney for the shutout.

The Rays were not able to muster off much offense against Josh Johnson but got enough for the win. B.J. Upton led the game off with a home run in the bottom of the first, while Drew Sutton and Ben Zobrist RBI singles in the sixth and seventh inning respectively added insurance.

Johnson's final line was six innings, allowing eight hits and four walks to go with two earned runs and four strikeouts.
