After losing a tough opening game in the 2012 College World Series to the Arizona Wildcats, the Florida State Seminoles exacted a measure of revenge against the Stony Brook Seawolves by the final score of 12-2 and eliminating Stony Brook from the tournament.
Devon Travis and Justin Gonzalez led the 'Noles offense with three RBI's apiece in the game while Sherman Johnson contributed two and James Ramsey added one to Florida State's nine RBI's on the day.
Mike Compton started on the mound for Florida State and pitched six complete innings and gave up six hits, two earned runs while walking two Stony Brook batters and striking out four.
The Seminoles stay alive in the double-elimination tournament and will now face the loser of the game between the number two seeded UCLA Bruins and the Arizona Wildcats.
