2012 U.S. Open: Webb Simpson Emerges Victorious

Memphis, TN native Webb Simpson took home the 2012 U.S. Open Crown in a come from behind victory on Sunday at the The Olympic Club. Simpson shot a final round of 68 to catch Jim Furyk and Graeme McDowell.

After shooting a 72 and 73 in the first and second rounds of the tournament, Simpson closed strong in the final to days of the open.

He birdied four holes on the day, including three consecutive on six, seven and eight while only making bogey on two holes.

This is Simpson's first major victory in his four years of being a professional golfer. The victory has to be sweeter considering he was nobody's favorite to win going into the final round.
