Florida State Vs. UCLA, 2012 CWS Scores: Seminoles Stay Alive With 4-1 Win Over Bruins

The Florida State Seminoles stayed alive in Omaha on Tuesday night with a 4-1 win over UCLA. The 'Noles move on to play Arizona in the finals of their bracket on Thursday. Junior Scott Sitz was absolutely dominating against the No. 2 seeded Bruins, striking out eight and allowing just one run in 6.2 innings of work. His five-hit outing completely put the Bruins' offense out of whack and locked up the win.

The Seminoles took advantage of the wildness of UCLA starter Zack Weiss, who managed to get just one out -- but not before he walked home two runs to give FSU a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Mike Martin's club would add to the lead with a remarkable suicide squeeze play that brought home two runs in the fourth inning. After three straight singles, Jayce Boyd put down the bunt and UCLA third baseman Kevin Kramer could not scoop the ball, running past it and allowing Devon Travis to motor around from second. FSU would only get two more hits for the rest of the game, but with Sitz crusing, it would be enough.

The Seminoles will now need to beat Arizona twice in order to advance to the championship series. Arizona defeated FSU 4-3 in their first game in Omaha.
