Florida State Vs. Arizona, 2012 CWS Scores: Seminoles Eliminated In 10-3 Thumping By Wildcats

The No. 3 seeded Florida State Seminoles were eliminated from the 2012 College World Series on Thursday night, falling 10-3 to the Arizona Wildcats in the finals of Bracket 1 in Omaha. The 'Noles fell behind early as the Wildcats put a six-spot on the board in the first inning. It was a disastrous first inning for Mike Martin, whose teams are still searching for their first CWS ring. The Seminoles committed three errors and Brandon Leibrandt gave up four hits which promptly led to six Wildcat runs. Only two of the runs were earned, and Luke Weaver finished the inning on the mound.

The Wildcats added another big crooked number in the bottom of the fourth to really blow things open. Two homers off Weaver blew it completely ajar at 9-1. Wildcats' starter Kurt Heyer pitched 7.1 innings, allowing just two earned runs while scattering nine FSU hits.

Arizona advances to the CWS best-of-three championship series, where they await the winner of South Carolina and Arkansas.
