French Open 2012: Top-Seeded Victoria Azarenka Defeated On Sunday In Women's Draw

The No. 1 seed on the women's side of the draw at the 2012 French Open fell on Sunday, with Victoria Azarenka losing in the fourth round to 15th-seeded Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia, 6-2, 7-6 (4). The winner of this year's Australian Open, Azarenka feel behind early and was unable to recover, losing her cool so badly at one point during that match that she issued a warning for racket abuse.

2009 French Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova also fell on Sunday, losing to Italy's Sara Errani, 6-0, 7-5. With the victory the No. 21-seeded Errani will advance to her second straight Grand Slam quarterfinal. The loss by Kuznetsova means the only defending French Open champion left in the women's draw is Li Na, last year's winner at Roland Garros.
