French Open Results 2012: Maria Sharapova And Sara Errani To Meet In Women's Finals

No. 2 Maria Sharapova of Russia defeated No. 4 Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in one semi final of the French Open on Thursday, 6-3, 6-3. This is the first time in Sharapova's career that she will play in the French Open finals. She has reached three of the last four grand slam finals, but has not won a grand slam championship since the 2008 Australian Open.

In the other semi final, No. 21 Sara Errani of Italy reached her first ever grand slam singles final by defeating No. 6 Samantha Stosur of Australia, 7-5, 1-6, 6-3. Up until this year she had not gotten out of the second round of the French Open in her career.

The French Open women's final will be broadcast live on NBC on Saturday at 9 a.m.
