NHL Free Agency 2012: Lightning Sign Artem Sergeev

The Tampa Bay Lightning continued to make small moves during the early stages of NHL free agency, as they announced the signing of 19-year-old defenseman Artem Sergeev of Val-d'Or Foreurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League to a three-year entry level contract.

Sergeev has played in 110 career games in the QMJHL where he has compiled 12 goals and 47 points to go with 86 penalty minutes. During the 2011-2012 season, he led Val-d'Or Foreurs with four power play goals. The Russian-native represented his home country in last year's IIHF World Junior Championships where he registered one goal and one assist.
