Rays Vs. Mariners: Tampa Bay Struggles To Score In 2-1 Loss

In the top of the first inning, starting pitcher Alex Cobb gave up two runs -- a two-run RBI single from Michael Saunders. That would prove to be enough for the visiting Seattle Mariners. The Tampa Bay Rays would never recover from their early deficit, eventually falling to the Mariners by a final score of 2-1.

Cobb lasted just two innings after leaving the game due to injury.

Tampa Bay struggled to drive runs in. They would collect seven hits, but just one run, which came during the seventh inning when a single from Jose Lobaton scored Desmond Jennings.

The series rubber-match is schedule for Sunday at Tropicana Field at 1:40 p.m. EST. Matt Moore will be on the mound for the Rays.
