With the Washington Nationals pulling away at the top of the NL East standings, the playoff hopes for the Miami Marlins continued to slim with a five-game losing streak. That streak, however, was broken on Monday in a 2-1 victory over the Braves and the Marlins can continue their climb back to .500 with another win on Tuesday.
To do so, they'll need a performance from Mark Buehrle more closely resembling his first two starts of July rather than his last. After back-to-back victories that included just one run allowed in over 14 innings pitched, Buehrle allowed four runs in five innings to the Cubs on Thursday in a 4-2 loss.
He'll look to get back on track against Tim Hudson on Tuesday who earned a victory over the Giants in his last start after allowing two runs in just over seven innings.
The first pitch at Marlins Park will be thrown at 7:10 p.m. and will be televised on Fox Sports Florida and SportSouth-Atlanta.
