Tiger Woods' quest for his first major championship since 2008 appears to be on a positive path, as Woods took sole possession of first place during his round on Friday.
Through seven holes, Woods is two-under par, bringing his total score for the tournament to five-under par.
Woods has been incredibly efficient with his short game so far in the tournament, which is a big reason for his success. He has needed only 27 putts to get through the first 23 holes he played. If this continues, the field will have a tough time catching him later in the weekend.
Behind Woods is Vijay Singh, who is one stroke behind at four-under after completing his round earlier in the day on Friday. He has seen a bit of a resurgence during the summer, as he also had a top-10 finish at the British Open back in July.
