Rays Vs. Twins: Ace David Price Takes The Mound For Tampa Bay In Minnesota

The Tampa Bay Rays (60-52) and a suddenly resurgent offense take the field on Saturday to face the Minnesota Twins (49-63), with the added bonus of having staff ace David Price on the mound. The Rays have won their last two games by 7-1 and 12-6 scores, after scuffling at the plate for what seemed like months.

Price (14-4, 2.49 ERA) will be looking to join R.A. Dickey and Jered Weaver as baseball's only 15-game winners. Since a loss on June 13, the young lefty is 6-0 with a 1.82 ERA in nine starts. In four career starts against the Twins, Price is 1-2 with a 2.70 ERA.

Nick Blackburn (4-7, 7.42 ERA) will be on the hill for Minnesota. Since earning a victory over the Reds on June 22, Blackburn has gone 0-3 with a 7.36 ERA in six starts. The right-hander has a 8.04 ERA against Tampa Bay in losing his last three starts against the Rays.
