Chad Johnson Arrest: Miami Dolphins Release Statement

The Miami Dolphins have issued a statement in the wake of wide receiver Chad Johnson's arrest on charges of domestic violence earlier Saturday night.

"We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering all the relevant information," it read.

According to a report from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, citing Davie Police Department captain Dale Engle, Johnson head-butted his new wife, Evelyn Lozada, a star on VH1's "Basketball Wives," during an argument in a vehicle. She had lacerations on her forehead, according to police on the scene.

Johnson, who is beginning his 12th NFL season, signed a one-year deal with the team in early June. He spent last season with the New England Patriots after 10 years with the Cincinnati Bengals.
