Rays Vs. Twins: Tampa Bay Looking For Sixth Straight Win And A Sweep

The Tampa Bay Rays are six games behind the Yankees in the American League East. They are tied with Oakland in the AL Wildcard standings. If they keep playing like they are right now, winning their last five and posting an 8-2 record over their last 10 games, the Rays could cruise into the postseason.

On Sunday, they have the chance to win their six straight and sweep the Minnesota Twins. James Shields will try and help his team get the broom out, chasing his third straight victory. Shields has allowed just one run in his last two starts, lowering his season ERA from 4.52 to 4.08.

Scott Diamond takes the mound for Minnesota. He has a 10-5 record and a 2.91 ERA on the season. The Twins lefty has alternated wins and losses in his last six starts, which would put him on track for a loss on Sunday if only things really worked out that way.

The game starts at 2:10 p.m. Eastern and can be seen on the Sun Sports Network.
