Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Lee Evans did not appear in the team's game against the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants not because of injury, but because the team had waived him, according to Vito Stellino of The Florida Times-Union.
Evans, who last played with the Baltimore Ravens in 2011, was viewed as a potential long-shot to make the Jaguars, as his inconsistent play over the years frustrated the teams he played for.
Another report from Stellino says that the team has also placed injured wide receiver Taylor Price on the waived injured list. If he clears waivers, he will head to the IR.
Stellino said the team is expecting to sign an offensive lineman and a receiver due to the rash of injuries to both positions.
