SB Nation Preseason All-Americans: Brandon Jenkins Celebrated Among D-Linemen

Brandon Jenkins, defensive end for the Florida St. Seminoles was named as one of five defensive line honorable mentions in SB Nation's Preseason All-American list. Jenkins recorded eight sacks and 41 total tackles in 2011. Jenkins recorded 29 solo tackles including 12 tackles for loss.

Despite his natural quickness and his instincts, which has led him to be placed on several award watch lists including the Nagurski and Bednarik awards, Jenkins missed out on one of the two defensive end spots. Both of those spots were taken by LSU Tigers defensive end Sam Montgomery and Michigan St. Spartans defensive end William Gholston.

Great performances by Jenkins this year could catapult him from an honorable mention to an All-American by season's end. A lot can happen during the season, but Jenkins has more than enough talent to not only lead the Seminoles' defense, but also get a lot of national attention.
