Miami Heat President Pat Riley is happy that LeBron James was able to lead Team USA to their second consecutive Olympic gold medal just a few months removed from helping the Heat win their second ever NBA championship.
According to a SunSentinel.com report, for as much as Riley is thrilled that LeBron is bringing home the gold, he's even happier that he didn't get hurt. Now he wants his superstar to rest up for the upcoming season so that Miami can attempt to successfully defend their title.
"I think both Micky and I had a great sigh of relief that he got through the Olympics without getting hurt or anything happening and also winning the gold medal," Riley said of the thoughts of himself and Heat owner Micky Arison.
"It just sort of completes a tremendous turnaround for him. He did it, and he did it by looking at himself in the eye, looking in the mirror, taking stock of what it was that he may not have done last year, on the court, off the court, and this year he had a perfect run.
"We just want him to get home and get some rest," he said. "And in a short six weeks, he's going to be back at it in training camp."
