Chris Bosh Commits To Fundraiser For President Obama

The Miami Heat are trying to help President Obama get re-elected.

OK, maybe that's taking things a little bit far but several members of the organization will take part in what's being billed as a basketball "Fantasy Camp" in New York City on Aug. 22 at Chelsea Piers. Several members of the organization are scheduled to participate including Chris Bosh. Sounds awesome, right?

More after the jump...

The event itself is actually a makeup from a scheduled charity basketball game that was supposed to take place last December that was set up as a result of the NBA lockout according to Ira Winderman, Miami Heat beat writer for the Miami Sun-Sentinel. But once the lockout ended, the game was cancelled as NBA players returned to work.

Alonzo Mourning and former Heat guard Steve Smith are scheduled to appear along with Bosh and take part in the festivities. And for a cool $250, you can get an autograph from these great Heat players.

But if that isn't enough, for $5,000 you and a friend can go through a skills session being coached by Bosh, Mourning and Smith.

No word on if the POTUS himself will be there, but hanging out with Chris Bosh should be more than enough reason to go.

For all things Miami Heat, head on over to Peninsula is Mightier or check out SB Nation Tampa Bay.
