The Miami Marlins have placed injured outfielder Logan Morrison on the 60-day disabled list, effectively ending the season for the 24-year-old left-handed slugger.
Morrison hasn't appeared in a game since July 28 and was placed on the disabled list on July 29 with inflammation in his right knee. The outfielder had surgery on the knee in December and has been bothered by it ever since. A second surgery could be a possibility.
The left fielder had been struggling at the plate all season. In 93 games Morrison had a batting average of .230 with 11 homers and 36 RBIs. Prior to being put on the disabled list in late July, Morrison had gone hitless in five straight games.
