Ryan Lochte swam a good race, but not good enough to earn gold in the 200m individual medley on Thursday. The Tampa resident claimed the silver medal in the event, with a time of 1:54.90. He finished 0.63 second behind gold medalist Michael Phelps, who recorded a time of 1:54.27.
The silver is his third individual medal of the Olympics, giving him a complete set of gold, silver and bronze and his fifth overall. Claiming the bronze medal in the event was Hungary's Laszlo Cseh who recorded a time of 1:56.22.
Though the race was not broadcast live this afternoon, the race should be broadcast in tape delay on NBC Thursday night as part of their prime time coverage.
