Heat Free Agency 2012: Heat Interested In Sean Williams?

Sources have reported that the defending champion Miami Heat might be interested in former Houston Rockets center Sean Williams. ESPN broke the news that Houston waived Williams yesterday, and later added that the Heat might be interested in adding him for front-court depth. The Rockets acquired Williams in a July sign-and-trade with the Celtics and waived him two days before his $900,000 contract became guaranteed.

Williams, a seven-year veteran out of Boston College, only played in eight NBA games last season. He starred in the D-league for the Texas Legends, averaging 15.2 points and 8.9 rebounds in 27 games. He put up similar numbers in 49 games for the Legends in 2010-2011.

The Heat currently sport two centers (Joel Anthony and Dexter Pittman) and three power forwards (Udonis Haslem, Chris Bosh and Rashard Lewis).
