The complete rankings for every quarterback in Madden 13 have been released and, not surprisingly, the Florida teams have terrible virtual quarterbacks. The best quarterback among the three rosters is Josh Freeman of the Buccaneers who's 82 ranking is just below Andrew Luck, Carson Palmer, Andy Dalton, Alex Smith and Robert Griffin III.
Yes, there are two players that have never played a snap in the NFL that are ranked higher than the highest rated quarterback that Florida can offer.
But the most notable ratings that Madden has released are those for players within the state that are in supposed "quarterback battles."
There's no doubt that David Garrard and Matt Moore are in a battle for the Dolphins starting gig and according to most reports, Garrard is the early favorite in training camp. Not according to Madden. Moore is a 78 overall, while Garrard is just behind him at 77.
While at Jacksonville Jaguars training camp, there is really no quarterback competition and everyone that has attended camp has said that Blaine Gabbert is far ahead of any quarterback on the roster. Nope, that's not what the folks at Madden think. Gabbert is a lowly 74, one behind fellow Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne who is a 75.
Perhaps the guys at EA Sports know something we don't about these quarterback battles, if they're even right to all be classified as such. Maybe they've got the inside scoop and know how to evaluate the tape better than those watching the practices. Maybe, but I seriously doubt it.
