The Miami Dolphins' team charter plane backed into another aircraft while on a runway at a Dallas airport late last night, according to a tweet from Miami Herald columnist Armando Salguero.
No one was hurt in the accident, and the team boarded a new plane and arrived home safe to Miami earlier this morning. Still, the accident on the runway caused a major delay for the Dolphins, who arrived home in Miami just after 7 a.m. Eastern Time.
The Dolphins were leaving Dallas after losing to the Cowboys, 30-13, in their final preseason game of the season. Rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill played sparingly and finished with 41 passing yards, connecting on five of his seven attempts. Backup Matt Moore finished throwing 4-of-12 for 49 yards.
With the loss to the Cowboys, the Dolphins finished the preseason without a win. They start the regular season Sunday, Sept. 9 with a road game against the Houston Texans.
