Team USA Vs. Australia Score Update: America Leads 56-42 At Halftime

The Men's U.S. basketball team hit the court to take on Australia on Wednesday afternoon to begin tournament play on their quest for a gold medal. The American team is just three wins away from gold, but Australia wasn't planning to just lay down and give up a victory. After the first quarter of play, the American team has just a seven point lead, 28-21.

The American team, led by 13 points from Deron Williams in the first half, began to build a 14-point halftime lead to hit the locker room leading Australia 56-42. LeBron James had a near double-double by halftime with seven points and 10 rebounds.

Australian guard Patrick Mills has helped in keeping the score manageable with 12 points while Joe Ingles has picked up nine points and five rebounds.
