The 2012 PGA Championship is underway from the Kiawah Island Resort in South Carolina. The current leader at the PGA championship is Carl Pettersson of Sweden who shot a six-under 66 in the first round. Pettersson birdied three of his first four holes and added another birdie on No. 7 to give him a four-under on the front nine. He also birdied No. 10 and No. 16 to give him the early score.
Gary Woodland of the United States and Rory McIlroy of England are both tied one stroke behind Pettersson at five-under for the first round. Defending champion and Jupiter, Fla. resident Keegan Bradley is currently two strokes behind Pettersson at four-under.
Tiger Woods had a very up and down first round. After starting his first round on the back nine, Woods birdied and bogeyed holes 12 through 15 to keep him at even for the round. He finished his round with only one more bogey and four birdies. He finished the round at three-under.
