The Rays will spend the Fourth of July with new AL members Houston, and travel to the Dodgers for the first time ever.

Presswire

The Tampa Bay Rays will open the 2013 season at home at Tropicana Field against the Baltimore Orioles. The 2013 MLB schedule was just announced, and it features the Rays and O's on Opening Day as part of a three game series before Tampa hosts Cleveland and then starts a 10-game road trip in April.

Notable AL East neighbors New York first arrive in Florida on April 22 for a three-game series, while the Boston Red Sox won't show up until May 14 for a three-game set.

There's a new look to the American League in 2013, with the Houston Astros leaving the NL Central for the AL West and officially balancing each league at 15 teams and three five-team divisions each. The Rays will play at Houston from July 1-4.

In Interleague play, Tampa will first play the Rockies in Denver on May 3, while the San Diego Padres will play the first Interleague series in Tampa starting on May 10. The Marlins, Diamondbacks and Giants will also visit Tropicana in 2013, and Tampa will play its first-ever series at the Dodgers August 9-11.
