JU Vs. Georgia Southern 2012: Final Score And Game Recap

Georgia Southern jumped out to a 27-0 lead after one quarter Saturday night en route to a 58-0 rout of Jacksonville. The Eagles racked up a whopping 557 yards on the ground.

Amazingly, GSU did not complete any of their eight pass attempts. Quarterback Ezayi Youyoute totaled 164 yards rushing, including a 79-yard touchdown run to open the scoring. Dominique Swope ran for 104 yards on 13 carries, and quarterback Jerick McKinnon picked up 71 yards and one touchdown.

The 557 yards rushing marked the seventh-highest total in school history. Southern, which reached the FCS quarterfinals in 2011 and finished with an 11-3 record, started this season ranked No. 3 in the Football Championship Subdivision.

Jacksonville threw four interceptions and turned the ball over five times as the offense struggled to just 178 total yards. The Dolphins held the ball for just over 24 minutes thanks to GSU's ball-control offense.
