Buccaneers Sign Chris Owusu, According To Report

Former Stanford wide receiver Chris Owusu will soon be joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to a report, as the Bucs look to improve on their wide receiving corp in preparation for their Sunday showdown with the Dallas Cowboys.

Owusu was previously a member of the San Diego Chargers' practice squad. The Tampa Bay Times reports that to make room for Owusu, the Bucs will place receiver Sammie Stroughter on the injured reserve list.

In his time at Stanford, Owusu caught 102 passes for 1,534 yards and 10 touchdowns while being a preferred target of former Stanford quarterback and current Indianapolis Colts starter Andrew Luck.

After suffering a concussion against USC in November 2011, Owusu's final season was cut short after concerns over his second such head injury in less than a month forced him to the sidelines.

Strougher, who was serving as the Buccaneers' return man, has caught 60 passes for 639 yards and one touchdown since being drafted by the Bucs in the 2009 draft out of Oregon State.
