Jelani Jenkins Injury: Gators LB Recovering Well

University of Florida junior linebacker Jelani Jenkins is recovering well from a fractured right thumb, according to head coach Will Muschamp. Jenkins suffered the injury in the Gators' 20-17 win over Texas A&M on Sept. 8

Already ruled out of Saturday's game against Kentucky, Florida will have a bye next week, which has left Muschamp optimistic about Jenkins potentially returning on Oct. 6 when the team hosts No. 2 ranked LSU. His comments via Jacksonville.com:

"They told me yesterday he went to the doctor and they changed his cast," Muschamp said. "In eight days, they are going to pull the pin out of there and take another look at it. But, he's going to start lifting and running today as far as getting back in the swing of things and getting his body back."

Jenkins has made 25 career starts while at Florida.
