Jeffrey Loria Denies Marlins Front Office Rumors

Miami Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria has put recent front office rumors to rest by refuting reports that president of baseball operations Larry Beinfest and general manager Michael Hill would be fired and replaced by assistant GM Dan Jennings. Loria held a meeting with the front office over the weekend to reassure them of their positions, per MLB.com:

Loria made it clear to the front office that he was keeping the status quo.

If a shift in power were going to occur, that meeting was the time and place to do it. It also was made clear that there would be no reassigning of duties or responsibilities.

The original report of a Marlins front office shake-up appeared Thursday from Bob Nightengale of USA Today. Nightengale's sources, allegedly "two high-ranking executives", had informed him that Beinfest and Hill would be asked to step down and Jennings would then then take on a dual role.
