Florida State v. USF first quarter update: Noles lead 7-3

The Florida State Seminoles lead the South Florida Bulls 7-3 at the end of the first quarter in Tampa.

South Florida scored on the game's opening drive on a 32 yard Maikon Bonani 32 field goal. Florida State then scored the first touchdown of the game off of a ten yard Rashad Greene rush, which capped off a 37 yard drive which was set up by a big Karlos Williams kickoff return into USF territory.

In spite of a decent offensive output through one quarter, South Florida has struggled to score. The Bulls have so far outgained the Seminoles 144 yards to 85.

Florida State star quarterback and potential Heisman Trophy candidate E.J. Manuel has just 17 yards on two completions over three attempts.

Coming in to this game, Florida State was a 16.5 point favorite over USF.

To begin the second quarter, South Florida is driving at second-and-nine with the ball on the Florida State 49.
