Rory McIlroy will take home a cool $1.44 million dollars for winning the 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston on Monday, but the story is perhaps Tiger Woods -- despite a third place finish.
Woods's third place finish earns him $544,000, which isn't bad for a weekend's work. With that check, Woods's career PGA earnings total surpasses $100 million dollars, according an ESPN report.
Louis Oosthuizen, who finished 19-under for the tournament and just one shot behind McIlroy, earned $864,000 with the second-place finish. Oosthuizen was in position to win the tournament, entering Monday's round at 19-under, but Oosthuizen shot even-par on Monday, his worst round of the tournament.
The PGA Tour will head to Carmel, Indiana later this week for the BMW Championship, which begins on Thursday.
