Rory McIlory made a jump in the latest FedEx Cup standings by shooting up from the fourth spot to now being the leader. McIlory was able to get to the top spot after winning the 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship this past weekend.
McIlory jumped Nick Watney, Tiger Woods and Brandt Snedeker to take the top spot. Watney was the prior leader in the FedEX standings and now fell to the second spot and is 1,331 points behind McIlory. Following Watney is Woods who stayed at third place, and then Snedeker who fell from second place to being fourth place.
Dustin Johnson who resides in Jupiter, Fla., comes in at sixth place in the latest standings which is an improvement of two spots from where he was heading into the Deutsche Bank Championship. Johnson moved up after finishing in a tie for fourth place.
The players who made the top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings are eligible to move on to the BMW Championship starting Thursday Sept. 6 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, In.
