Williams had very little trouble with semifinal opponent Sara Errani and won in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-2. Williams served up nine aces and won 92 percent of her first serve points while cruising to victory.

No. 1 Azarenka defeated Maria Sharapova, but had to rally in order to do so. Sharapova won the first set 6-3 before Azarenka turned the match around and took the final two sets, 6-2 and 6-4.

Williams and Azarenka will square off on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. The semifinals of the men's draw are also scheduled for Saturday.
