The Jacksonville University Dolphins will look for their first win of the season on Saturday when they take on the Charleston Southern University Buccaneers. The Dolphins were beaten 58-0 by the Georgia Southern Eagles in Week 1. Charleston Southern is also looking for their first win, having lost 49-14 to The Citadel Bulldogs in their season opener.
The two teams faced each other in the 2011 season, with the Dolphins scoring in the final minutes to secure a 37-30 win. They'll look to duplicate that feat in this year's game, where they hope to get their feet back under them after the Week 1 defeat.
"We didn't play to the level we are used to," Dolphins head coach Kerwin Bell told the team's official site. "We have just got to play better."
There's a lot of room for improvement. The defense gave up 557 yards -- all of them on the ground -- while the offense gained only 178 yards. It will be up to sophomore quarterback Trevius Folston to improve on that after he replaced freshman Kade Bell midway through the second quarter.
