South Florida scored a game-winning touchdown on a 52-yard B.J. Daniels pass to sophomore wideout Andre Davis with just 38 seconds to go, as the Bulls went ahead to defeat the Nevada Wolf Pack by a score of 32-31.
Daniels had a big day for USF, completing 22-of-40 passes for 363 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns came late in the fourth quarter, with the aforementioned pass to Andre Davis following another long pass to Chris Dunkley.
In a losing effort, Nevada quarterback Cody Fajardo had a big day for Nevada out of the pistol offense, with 139 yards rushing and 254 yards passing with three total touchdowns. Stefphon Johnson rushed for 135 more yards on 30 carries.
On the win, USF improves to 2-0 on the year.
Box Score Hero: A lot of players performed very well today, but South Florida's Andre Davis had the offensive performance of the game. The Bulls receiver caught 12 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner.
Rankings Ramifications: Neither team was ranked heading into this game, but both were receiving votes. It is unlikely though that USF will crack the top-25 after this victory, though.
But Did They Cover? Nevada was listed as a one point favorite, so they did not cover that. The over/under was set at 57.5, so the game was just in the under.
