Are you tired of GoDaddy.com commercials at the Super Bowl? I'll guess that you are.
Here's how they typically work: Race car driver Danica Patrick, who has been deemed to be a Pretty Race Car Driving Lady, shows up, and does something, and OH WOW IT LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING REALLY SEXUALLY CHARGED IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN but oh no -- we have to go to the internet to find the TOO HOT FOR TV version.
I've never gone to the internet to find the TOO HOT FOR TV version. That's because in all likelihood, there's no too hot for TV version -- you can't advertise for porn during the Super Bowl -- and even if I did want to see something along the lines of the too hot for TV, there's, like, other internet outlets for that which I won't link to here.
This year's ad for the domain name peddler is a little bit different:
Yes, it still features Sex®, as Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli makes out with a nerdy-looking guy representing the "smart" side of GoDaddy. But this time, we don't get the pointless link to Danica Patrick hypothetically inappropriate things on the internet, which is a pleasant change. Those ads not only insulted the intelligence of people who know better than to make our domain name purchasing choices because of hot women on the teevee, but also insulted the intelligence of people who totally would buy domain names for that reason but also know how to find lewd video content on the internet.
Darren Rovell reports that the dude in this commercial made out with Bar Refaeli 65 times, which totally won't haunt him -- or me -- for the rest of our respective lives.
