Super Bowl commercials 2013: The best of the best

From farmers to Clydesdales, here are three of the best commercials from Super Bowl XLVII.

Jamie Squire

Usually the best Super Bowl ads are the funniest ads. But perhaps Super Bowl XLVII bucked that trend this year.

One of the best ads this year came from Ram Trucks. With Paul Harvey as the voice man for this impressive commercial, the ad was more about farmers than trucks. That can be appreciated for more than one reason.

Here's the commercial:

Truck commercials have, for a long time, tried to sell their products as "country strong." But this one was different. With Paul Harvey's powerful, scratchy speech charging through the powerful images, everything seemed to come to life. If it was just an actor reading the words, it wouldn't have been the same. We've seen that before. But we haven't seen this. Kudos to Ram for making one of the best commercials in recent Super Bowl memory.

And now to the funny stuff.

You know who was a good footballer? That Neon Deion Sanders guy. Well, he just decided to make another run in the NFL thanks to a brilliant NFL Network commercial:

It's hard to not like something with Deion Sanders in it. A lot of NFL commercials are fantastic, so this just adds to the long list. My favorite part about this video? The caption on YouTube: "WTF NO GENO SMITH?"

And lastly, the commercial that makes you all warm inside.

Budweiser has delivered 23 Super Bowl commercials that have featured Clydesdales. None, though, have come across as sweet and loving as what we saw Sunday night:

I've seen this commercial, oh, 10 times now. It still gives me goosebumps. Thanks, Budweiser. Thanks a lot.
