The UCF Knights will look to complete a season sweep of the Memphis Tigers Tuesday night, however they will have to do so on the road at the FedEx Center in Memphis.
The Knights were finally able to beat the Tigers for the first time in program history back on January 18, as the 68-67 victory was the first in 11 tries for UCF.
Junior forward Keith Clanton and junior guard Marcus Jordan were big keys to the first victory over the Tigers. Clanton scored 23 points and pulled down eight rebounds while making the game winning shot with four seconds to play. Jordan chimed in with 20 points of his own.
The Knights will have their hands full with Tigers guard Will Barton. The sophomore is the frontrunner for Conference-USA player of the year honors, averaging a league-high 18.1 points per game. He had a game-high 24 points and eight rebounds during the first meeting between the two teams.
After clinching back-to-back 20-win seasons with a win over UTEP on Saturday, UCF will now turn its focus on securing a top-four spot in the C-USA tournament field and receiving a bye into the quarterfinals. The Golden Knights currently rank fourth in the C-USA standings, and could greatly improve their chances of receiving a bye with a win tonight.
Game time at the FedEx Center is scheduled for 9 p.m. The contest will be televised on CSS.
