Bowl game projections 2012: Florida, Florida State could be BCS-bound

Both the Gators and Seminoles are in position to play in a BCS bowl game.

The Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles are both projected to play in a BCS bowl this season, according to the latest article from SB Nation's Jason Kirk. Kirk has the Gators in the Sugar Bowl matched up with the Oklahoma Sooners, as he expects the Gators to lose to Alabama in the SEC championship game. Florida is 7-0 overall and can clinch the SEC East with a win over Georgia this weekend.

Florida State is in the Orange Bowl as the ACC champion, with a matchup against Rutgers out of the Big East. Florida State is not currently in control of its destiny in the Atlantic Division, but it only needs one N.C. State loss to regain command.

The Miami Hurricanes are projected to play in the Chick-fil-A Bowl against Texas A&M. Miami is 4-4 overall but 3-2 in ACC play, which has it in second place in the Coastal Division.

Central Florida is projected to face Iowa in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. The Knights are 5-2 this season.
