The Florida Gators struggled with the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns all day, but scored two touchdowns in the final 1:50 to escape with a 27-20 win. Jelani Jenkins returned a blocked punt 35 yards for the winning touchdown with 13 seconds left to save the Gators, who looked quite poor for most of the game.
Jacoby Brissett, who was in for the injured Jeff Driskel, connected with Quinton Dunbar just moments before to tie the game at 20. The Ragin' Cajuns also scored a touchdown on a blocked punt, which Blake Comminie returned for a touchdown in the third quarter that gave them a 17-13 lead.
Jeff Driskel injured his ankle in the third quarter, which really hobbled an already struggling Florida offense. Driskel finished the game 14-19 for 103 yards and a touchdown, along with 77 rushing yards.
Box Score Hero: In a game full of poor offensive performances, Brissett was 4-5 for 57 yards and a touchdown in limited action. He also saved Florida's bacon by throwing the game tying touchdown.
Rankings Ramifications: The Gators came into the weekend ranked 6th in the BCS standings, and they will fall well into the teens
But Did They Cover? The Gators were 27.5 point favorites, so no, they did not cover.
